HVD is pleased to announce a newcollaboration with ADmit Therapeutics, a biotechnology companyspecializing in innovative diagnostic solutions for neurodegenerative diseases.
Through this collaboration, HVD expands its portfolio in precision diagnostics and neurodegenerative disease with the introduction of MAP-AD®, ADmit Therapeutics’ innovative blood-based prognostic test for Alzheimer’s disease dementia.
MAP-AD® is a CE-IVDR certified qualitative in vitro diagnostic test designed to provide a prognosis of progression from Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) to dementia due to Alzheimer’s disease in adults aged 55 to 85 years.
The technology introduces a novel approach based on epigenetic biomarkers in mitochondrial DNA obtained from blood. Using Next Generation Sequencing (NGS), MAP-AD® analyzes mitochondrial DNA methylation patterns which, together with relevant clinical data, are processed by the MAP-AD® software to provide a prognosis of disease progression.
Importantly, the MAP-AD® approach is basedon biomarkers that are independent of β-amyloid and tau, offering a differentand complementary perspective on the biological processes associated withprogression to Alzheimer’s dementia.
The collaboration with ADmit Therapeutics reflects HVD’s continued commitment to identifying and introducing innovative, clinically relevant technologies that advance personalized and precision medicine.
